Just got off the phone with customer service. Spoke with Mark. I am trying to settle my sister's affairs - she passed away October 26, 2015. I am absolutely astounded that this young man was the FIRST individual who DID NOT make any expression of sympathy for my loss, but was very quick to inform me that my sister still owed a balance for SOMEONE CARES CARDS. We will pay the balance. That's not the issue. I find it ironic, however, that a representative of GUIDEPOST, a Christian publication/organization, treated my call in this manner when EVERY CREDIT CARD representative I have spoken to at least offered some form of sympathy for our loss and was quick to explain that I was not responsible for outstanding balances. I actually expected more from the folks at Guideposts. What an eye opening phone call and a sad indictment on Guideposts. I will not forget this incident.
Please see: "The Iowa unclaimed property law requires that all businesses review their records each year and report unclaimed assets to the Unclaimed Property Program of the Iowa treasurer's office. This report must be filed on or before November one of each year and should include all property that is reportable as of July 1. " I am going to ask Iowa if Guideposts has filed any of these reports. Please note - duplicate payments received by a company are "Unclaimed Properly. ".

The first was received and billed as if one wanted to order in advance. It was not returned. The bill received today mentions "several months" since the first bill was sent. This is erroneous. Again, this publication was NOT ORDERED, nor will it be. This 2nd bill will not be returned or paid. Please find some other dope to manipulate. I am 85 years old and not interested in a Christian publication. I would not ever order it. Thank you for taking care of this obnoxious matter.

I do not have a complaint. I have a question. I am looking for a short story for Sunday school. It is called "Gertrude The Duck" I know it exists because I have used it before, but I do not have it any more. It is a story about a duck that honks when it is afraid. After excepting Jesus it took her fear away and she stopped her "honking". At the end you give each child a white feather to take home and anytime they are afraid they hold onto the feather and know that God is always with them and there is no need for fear. It is a wonderful story. Can you forward this request to the right dept. And maybe they can help me. Guidepost solve my problem
For account 0038070744 I received a notice of nonpayment in the amount of $18. 74. This was paid. Check number 2378. It posted to my bank account on 6/18/15. I also wrote on the check that I wished to have my account closed. I received a packet of cards in the mail after requesting this account to be closed. I did not open the package and marked it return to sender indicating that my account was closed. I hope we are in agreement with this and that everything has been resolved. Please respond.
Received a bill from Subscription Billing Service (SBS) in the amount of $49. 00 for renewal of my Guidepost Subscription. I have heard of so many scams that I immediately checked, because I know that my subscription does not cost that much and my current subscription expires Aug 2015, plus Guideposts bills me direct. I looked them up on the internet and they are scamming people who unknowingly respond to subscription renewal notices without checking it out first.
A while back i am receiving copies of your Guideposts. I called your office and requested stoppage as i never subscribed to this book. Today i received a copy. I called your office again and spoke to a lady named Nancy. She informed me she would make sure this free subscription would stop. I do not want any more copies of this book in the future, so please remove my name completely from your records. If i receive any more copies in the future i will notify the authorities and will start action. So please remove me from your records so no further action will be necessary. The website is horrible - there is no phone number that I saw in order to cancel my subscription. So, I wrote a note to Customer Service and I am wondering if I will hear from them especially after the complaints below, This is ridiculous - why is it so hard to cancel my subscription? Per my conversation today with CSR Elaine via X3148, this complaint references a defamatory character letter to my 89 year old mother relative to the status of her account with Guideposts. First, her account (#0010228906) with Guideposts was gifted from a friend, Colonel H Marsh, now deceased. Second, card packages mailed to her on two occasions were returned unopened via USPS. Thus your billing communications for these cards AND your latest character letter are unwarranted, resulting in bad feelings that such a letter was even directed at her. Therefore, I have requested the account be closed, any subscription cancelled, and all communications stopped immediately. In addition I am advised by CSR Elaine per our telephone discussion today, the account balance of $37.48 (invoice #1018 and #1019) has been zeroed out and nothing further from Guideposts will be mailed to my mother. Thank you in advance for your assurance this matter is finalized as of today, August 19, 2013.
