As i understand it, you have to close the old one and then open a new one. I called and the person i spoke to was very helpful in closing the old claim and opening the new one for me. (i used option "2". I would try again to call them. The only problem i had was that since this is a Monday, this is their busiest day, i had to call a couple of times and then had to wait for someone to answer. I wish you luck and maybe you will get the csr jasmine.
My comment is NOT a complaint,, but a positive feedback about one of your customer service employee's, located in Charlotte, NC call center. I usually do not write notes,, but wanted you to know how helpful and patient Jasmine was with me, in assisting me, to correct my claim. I am new to filing a claim for unemployment, as this is the first time in over 40 years of working, that I had to file a claim. My customer service representative, Jasmine (who reports a supervisor named Ron), was very helpful and I believe went out of her way to assist me through this process. The state of NC could use more people like her working in the customer service area. Ron (supervisor), I just wanted to point her out to you, as she is a very knowledgeable and helpful individual, and you use more people like her. Leslye Weisman.
I have been trying to talk to a real person to file my unemployment I had been on unemployment until last November. I started a new job, but was let go due to lack of work for the business. I have tried to file a new claim and it says I can not access. The older one was not closed, but the money stopped at the right time. Now I have a new claim and I can not file or talk to anyone. Why? Please help.
